Command is the department responsible for keeping the other departments together. They make sure that things are happening the way they are supposed to, they facilitate meetings and events, make decisions regarding the future of the ship and represent the ship to STARFLEET Command. The Command department is usually where the ship’s highest-ranking officers will serve.
New members who have not yet chosen a Department to serve in, aka ‘Recruits’ are looked after by the Command Department, but they are not considered members of the Department. Recruits are, in effect, a separate group.
Only volunteer “Duty Station holders” can be assigned to the Command Department.

The Commanding Officer (CO) is the president of the USS Omnus. Responsibility for all operational and policy matters finally rests on the shoulders of the CO, and the CO is authorised to delegate that responsibility to the various other Duty Stations.
The CO is one of two Duty Stations that are mandated by STARFLEET, and this position must always be filled by a member of SFI in good standing. This position may not be held by an Enlisted member.
